About NIGHTLINe

Our Mission

University is often a stressful time. Individuals might be living away from home for the first time and can face many challenges along the way.  Many people feel out of their comfort zone; adding to stress and anxiety. Studies suggest that 20-25% of university students show raised levels of psychological distress. For some students, these feelings may lift after a period of time, but for others they may lead to feelings of hopelessness and depression. This is where Nightline aims to help.

How we operate

Nightlines are student-run listening and information services, open at night when other services on campus may be closed.

Every night of term, student volunteers all over the UK answer calls, texts, instant messages and talk in person with their fellow university students about anything that is troubling them.
